In a near-real world, a seemingly ordinary girl, Kuroi Mato, begins a dazzling new year of middle school. A classmate, Takanashi Yomi, quietly draws her attention. Yomi keeps her distance at first, but a shared fondness for the “Rainbow Bird” story nudges them closer—until Mato glimpses Yomi’s hidden hurt. Elsewhere—within a strange, mirrored realm—figures battle beneath a sky as blue as tears. Day after day they fight like soldiers, shouldering the pain and chaos others cannot bear.

A slender, pale girl with asymmetrical twin-tails, clad in a black coat; her left eye burns with a cute, icy blue flame. She wields the ★ROCK CANNON, a rock-textured mega-cannon capable of firing up to 20 rounds per second, and at times a gleaming cold blade—occasionally both at once. Two deep scars mark her right flank and left ribs. Her battles unfold in stark spaces of chains, crosses, and black-white checker blocks. She exists in a world separate from Mato’s.
